when you don't have room for a med tank

Ok,

this has always been an issue -see a sick looking fish but have no where to set up a medication tank. Came up with a hair brain idea last night and thought id ask whether you guys would think it could work.

Excuse the drawing quality its hard to draw with a beer in your other hand!

Basically it is a an option for small /dwarf size fish - but could be made bigger.

Let me know if it doesn't make sense as i am sure it won't

You may be surprised gro, but that will certainly work :P It's often done to isolate a fish that is being bullied, or to grow out fry that would otherwise become snacks.

You can buy a cheap little plastic tank from most pet shops. Attaching it to the side of the main tank may be a bit tricky, but a bit of wire and some styrene will help it to float in place.

You just need to make sure that there is no chance of the quarantine water coming in contact with the main tank water. But if you're just medicating with salt, that wouldn't be such a problem.

You'd need an airstone, and to change the water at least every day, twice a day if possible, because you won't have a filter in there.

If the tank was large enough, you could even have a small cycled sponge filter in the tank.

Don't forget the little bucket for the sick one, and the tinnies for the fish in the main tank :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
