Hi everyone, The department of primary industries in Queensland has informed us that imported green prawns are carrying a parasite which is having a major affect on fish in our waterways. People using these prawns for fishing have inadvertedly infected local fish populations. I know many people use prawns as a fish food additive. Whether or not the parasite can exist in fresh water remains to be seen. If your Discus fall sick after feeding them your newly made food mix utilising prawns this could be a possibility.

They also use Chloranphenicol as an anitbiotic which is a known carcinogenic, just another reason I never buy imported prawns for my family's seafood needs.
