Need some help??

Can someone please tell me what the sex is to these Kribs??

As I have had them about 2 years and still have no babies from them! All my other fish are breeding! :) And maybe tell me what sort of conditions I need for these to breed, ie temp, ph etc!

Looks like two girls to me...the bright pink abdoman is a give away as is the short trailing end to the dorsal fin.
They are both very nicely coloured girls.

This would explain why im not getting any babies! It might be time to start looking for a good man for my two girls lol. I wasnt sure about there sex as the one in the first pic is abit smaller and never had as pinker belly.

Will they be ok with one male? or will one male be ok with two females? (should i say.)

hi Flip,
you won't need any more confirmation that what you already have on those two being females. however the bucks also get pink bellies, but not nearly as intense as the girls. the girls are usually shorter and much rounder in the belly than the males as well.

two females won't be good, as the kribs strike a firm pairbond (during breeding and raising fry only), as opposed to harem spawning. the male and the female who chooses him will beat up the other girl and possibly harrow her to death once they spawn. they can also be pretty aggressive to most fish in a community tank, however, this is not the rule. we've had a pair breeding away in a 7ft tank with congo tetras, big synodontis eupterus and some smaller south american species with no problems.
I guess if you can provide a tank large enough with hiding spaces and broken up territories you may keep more than one pair of kribs in a tank, but personally I would advise against it.

I think a good quality Krib really is a attractive and very underated fish.
Ideal for a beginer like me at breeding too.

Need not to say any more about the gender of the twp pics above.

Kirb are always available but good quality krib is rather hard to get (good colour/size and many spots).

Look around for a good male or two, you'll be rewarded with some good quality kribs.
