Clear Ammonia where to buy from????

I see that this topic has been raised many of times about on how to cycle a new tank. Where do people buy clear ammonia from to do this fishless cycle. How do you get ammonia into the tank if clear ammonia isnt available. Cheers Axl

Hi Axl,
I've just found a chemical producer in Adelaide that sells (but won't ship) it. I found it by asking the local Chemist where they would be supplied from if they were to get it. You could try that, or as has been suggested, there's always your own body's manufacturing plant, or putting raw prawns in.

I had a thread recently asking where to get it from, you could check the responses on that?

yeah checked that already and no good. I live 3 hours from melbourne and cant get raw prawns either.

It might be that you have to resort to the urine method.

Or I was told that if you put in as much food as you would feed the fish every day, that this will break down to cycle the tank? I think this was mostly in relation to frozen foods, but I'm not sure.
