Super San Merah - When do they turn red?

I purchased 2 small Super San Merah Discus at about 1-1/2" in length. They are a solid brown color at this point. Does anyone have any idea when they start to change to their bright red color? Just curious.

about 2.5"-3" in size they start showing red... starting from the fins and then towards the center of the body. They will need to be fed food laced with red colour enhancers like carotene and asthaxanthin to promote the red colouration.
