anyone got any ideas on how to extend the hoses on a fluval 204 ?
it's a 14mm or 14.5mm ribbed hose, I need about an extra meter on the runs
thanks
Michael.

I would be concerned about the power of the impeller to handle the extra length. 204 is very small IMO. You could go to the web to find the hose on line. There is also a connector for the hose. You should be able to use that as the connector.

I have a Fluval FX5 and to extend the hose for my CO2 reactor i just used 25mm barb connectors and elbows for sprinkler systems (bunnings), and 25mm clear tubing that you get from the same aisle. I also used stainless hose clamps not the plastic clips for the sprinkler system.
Obviously you'd have to scale that down to your hose size providing that the pump can handle it.
You may be able to achieve someting by upgrading the whole hose system to larger diameter to reduce the rsistance of lengthening the hose???
Also i would think that lenghtening the inlet hose would have less of an effect on the filter than lengthening the outlet hose. Read you manual for maximumn hose lengths.

I'll most likely replace the 204's in the future (looking at an fx5).
but for now, I would like to limp along with them.
will butcher something up.
