I have some straight lengths of plastic Eheim tubing that I want to bend.

Has anyone heated this particular plastic to do similar kinds of things?? If so, what heat source did you use and how hot (roughly) did you heat the plastic so it was malauble, but not so hot it melted or burnt?

I just heat it up over my gas stove - keep twirling it around to avoid over heating & it will suddenly just go soft. However, I have also found it tends to collapse if you manipulate it too much, so now I use a combination of curved tube and hose to get the angles I want.

I softened mine by sticking it in some water that had been boiled in the kettle and then pored in to a bowl/bucket. Just keep putting it back in until the tubing has softened enough.

I wouldn't expose it to any kind of naked flame.

I'll give it a try. Thanks.

Hi All ,
The easiest way to bend eheim or any other plastic pipe (pvc) is just get one of those springs that all electricians use to bend their pvc pipe.

Ive found it to be the easiest way to bend without heating etc(no kinking)
