Its 10gal per adult discus, could fit more young in there but when they bigger they would need moving...

Hi Badilidon,
Depends on how your tank is setup and how much maintence you are prepared to do. For instance if you were going for a community display and planted tank then i would add 6 adult discus. If you intend to go with a bb tank with large daily waterchanges then you can add 10 adult discus.

Scott,
question (sorry to attach to thread) but what's 10 gallons in litres (if you could), my discus pairs are 20 cm + nose to tail and that seems like a small amount of water for them to swim, atm i have three pairs all in their own 6 x 1 ft tanks
Roughly what are the sizes of some of your pairs....i think i remember you keeping some of yours in 4fters aren't you, they breed often amd wanted to know what size are your successfull fish.
cheers

Go to fishprofiles.com you can do all sorts of unit comparisions under 'calculator'. Very handy indeed.

There are allowences though Ive had 8 in a 55g but just done regular water changes and had an overkilled filtration system.
