Whats this stuff.

On my breeding pair of goldern Crystal I noticed a white thick mucus layer on the sides of the fish. In a line around the fish.

Not sure what it, the havent been active for a while. I checked water parameters, Ph has been sitting around 6.0, and Ammonia levels a little hi but not harmfull at that PH. Fish are eating fine.

I was having trouble getting these guys to spawn. last year all I had to do was a water change and they would be up to tricks in no time.
Due to the non existant rain in SA, its not that easy.
any ideas what the whitestuff may have been? :arrow: :?:

Sorry Merrilyn, cant show you any pictures Ive been doing small water changes over three days, white substance has pretty well disapeared.

If was to describe the best I can It was a white powdery mucus outline around the back part of the fish. Half circle shape. A picture would have helped.
